Kajol was born actress Tanuja and film producer Shomu Mukherjee on 5th August, 1975. She was born in a Bengali-Marathi family.She family sounds like what APS, which the film industry, AI grandmother Rattan Bai, grandmother and aunt Shobana Samarth nutans who won five Filmfare Best Actress Award; paternal uncles Joy and Deb Mukherjee, who the producers; grandfather Sashadhar Mukherjee, a filmmaker married Satirani with Devi, the sister of Ashok Kumar, Anup Kumar and Kishore Kumar, sister Tania, husband Ajay Devgan, Rani Mukherjee cousins and Mohnish Behl.
She did her training at St. Joseph, AOS in Panchgani until she was seventeen when she walked out of school for an actress to play.
She married actor turned producer Ajay Devgan in 1999 and the couple had a daughter Nysa. She took a break from movies, making a comeback in 2006.

From 1992 to 1997 Bekhudi Kajol debuted in 1992, when her real life mother Tanuja the reel-life mother played. It was in 1993 with Baazigar Shahrukh Khan, who earned her recognition as an actress worth watching out for. Yeh Dillagi, a remake of Sabrina, where she plays Sapna chased by two brothers got her a nomination for Filmfare Best Actress Award.

She had three releases in 1999 Dil Kya Kare, Hum Aapke Dil Mein Hai Hote Hote Pyaar Ho Rehete and Gaya. In 2000 she played the lead Anna Raju Chacha produced by Ajay Devgan. The film does not achieve the expectations. Kuch Katti Kuch Meethi had her in a double role, Karan Johar, Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham APS, a large family drama won her Filmfare Best Actress Award.
From 2006 to 2009 Kajol, after a break of three years, made a comeback with Fanaa, a story about a blind girl who falls in love with Zooni a terrorist, played by Aamir Khan. It won her Filmfare Best Actress Award. She made few appearances in the song sequences in Kal Ho Na Ho, Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna,
Om Shanti Om, and Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. In 2008 she starred in You, Me Aur Hum, which was directed and produced by Ajay Devgan and did pretty good.
2010 Kajol was next release My Name Is Khan with Shahrukh Khan and Koochie Koochie Hota Hai, an animated version of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. Another animated film she is working Toonpur Ka Superhero. She is also working on a film with Kareena Kapoor, a remake of Hollywood movie Stepmom
